You can verbally command the voice-to-text engine to insert punctuation marks. Try saying the following words while dictating:

- Local Browser Transcription: Browsers like Safari and Firefox leverage your device's built-in operating system speech engine to compile transcribing scripts locally.
- Google Chrome Transcription: Google Chrome routes audio blocks to Google's cloud speech APIs to return high-accuracy voice transcription. While Chrome's engine is extremely accurate, those transcribing sensitive information may want to use Safari/Firefox or review Google's speech data guidelines.
- Absolute Text Privacy: Regardless of the speech engine used, the text that appears in your editor is stored entirely in local browser RAM. We run zero server-side storage engines or database logging scripts.
How to Use Speech-to-Text Dictation
To start transcribing your voice:
- Make sure your microphone is connected and working.
- Click the microphone icon in the editor panel above.
- Accept the browser prompt requesting microphone access.
- Start speaking clearly. Your words will materialize in the text box in real time.
- Click the microphone icon again to disable the transcription capture.
- Apply text styling, copy the output, or download the transcript as a file.

Which languages are supported by voice dictation?
The voice transcription engine automatically uses the default language configured in your web browser. In browsers like Google Chrome, it supports dozens of international languages and regional dialects, including Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Chinese, and Hindi.
Why isn't the microphone button working?
If the microphone button does not respond, it is usually because microphone permissions have been denied or blocked. Look for the camera/microphone icon in the right or left corner of your browser's URL address bar, click it, and reset/allow permission for our domain.
Is my voice recorded or stored?
No. Your voice is not recorded, stored, or saved. The audio is captured as a temporary buffer stream for immediate translation into text, and the stream is closed the moment you stop the recording session.
